You didnt say what device you have but ios 9 is miles better as far as stability over ios 8.3. 8.4.1 was a pretty stable decent update but 9 has been better even since 9.0. it was a tad slower and stuttered in a few places (like milliseconds) but 9.3 has finally eliminated that for most folks.. Tap settings > general > software update. tap download and install. if a message asks to temporarily remove apps because ios needs more space for the update, tap continue or cancel. later, ios will reinstall apps that it removed. if you tap cancel, learn what to do next. to update now, tap install.. I recommend not to do that. you could do it if it was a 32gb model at least. you may have storage issues if you update it . moreover, the ar capabilities of the ios 11 would be very difficult for iphone 6(with a8 processor in it) to handle..
